Patty Melt with a side of Sweet Potato

Diner foods are great! I enjoy going to eat at diners and find that the atmosphere there always has a home feel to it. Everyone knows each other. The waitress always calls me baby or sugar. She ask how my mom is doing. Everyone says hi and stuffs their mouth with delious comfort foods. Bringing the type of feelings home usually isn’t the same, but I try my best sometimes to make a meal that taste like it came from my favorite diner. The patty melts I make at home taste real close. My mouth is watering right now thinking of it. Go ahead and try this recipe for yourself and let me know hope yours comes out! Im always up for new suggestions so let me know how you changed yours. Best of luck!

Ingredients:

1lb of ground chuck

Half an onion

Bread (whatever you prefer)

Butter

Cheese (any cheese will do. I used American)

Bacon

Sweet potato

Salt

Pepper

Go ahead and warm up the oven to 350 when the oven is warm place the sweet potatoes in the oven for an hour. Warm up the skillet and start cooking the bacon. (Try to resist eating all of it, I know it smells good.) Then once the bacon is done, go ahead and saute the onions. Place the caramelized onions to the side. Brown the burgers in the warm skillet. Butter the bread of your choice and toast. Once the bread is toasted assemble the sandwich and place your choice of veggies and sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy.
